Summer Fun

AUGUST 29, 2018

Our residents stayed very busy this summer with lots of fun activites. (click links below for pictures)

First, a huge thank you to two amazing churches that sent our youth to two sleepaway summer camps. Sugar Creek Baptist Church allowed us to send 14 of our residents to Carolina Creek Camp the week of July 4th. St. Laurence Catholic Church provided 16 youth with camp bags and sent them to Stoney Creek Camp at the end of the summer break. All of the youth that attended had an amazing time!

Additionally, Sugar Creek Baptist Church sent over 60 adult and teen volunteers to construct a crushed granite walkway around our ponds. They also replaced the flooring in our recreation center with hardwood laminate. A big thank you to all who participated!

We welcomed volunteer groups from Regnum Christi Woodlands, St. Angela Merici Catholic Church and teachers from Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Five of our older residents completed the Preparation for Adult Living program.

Other fun summer activities included trips to T.W. Davis YMCA, Sugar Land Skeeters baseball games, movie nights (thanks to Star Cinema Grill) and a visit from Mary Had a Little Party.

Our residents also gave back to our community by volunteering at Reigning Strength Therapeutic Horsemanship, Lunches of Love and Fort Bend Women's Center's PennyWise Store.

We'd also like to thank Kroger for providing us with money to feed the youth this summer.
